Day to Day

The day to day requirements of a Rottweiler are relatively low. Providing that is that you exclude exercise and food!
Food
The Rottweiler is a big dog and as such, requires copious amounts of food. But that food intake must always be measured against the amount of exercise it receives. The Rottweiler will happily laze around the house all day if you let it. It will also happily eat all day if you allow that to happen.
As a puppy, feed your Rottweiler four meals a day. From the age of 6 months, reduce this to two meals a day. Put your Rotty’s food out, leave it for a set time and then take it away. Do not let your Rottweiler pick all day. Whatever it leaves, take away.
Stick to the food manufacturers recommended daily amount, no more, no less. And don’t try to overfeed your puppy to force its growth. That is just storing up problems for its later life. Keep your Rottweiler puppy slim – you should be able to feel its ribs beneath its skin. And keep it that way throughout its life.
Rottweilers tend to suffer from Bloat, a condition exacerbated by overfeeding. This is why you should feed your Rottweiler in sittings rather than it’s whole food intake in one meal.
